FULL MOON FEVER (4) was unsuited by a heavy track at Riccarton just over 6 weeks ago, and has been close up in a trial on this track since then. He only needs a former surface to be hard to beat in this easier assignment. HOLDEM (9) raced well last season on the poly track at Riccarton, and resumes from a spell that would have done her the world of good. She trialled nicely on the Ashburton turf late last month and is weighted to be a big threat fresh up in this. MALMAISON (2) will be at his peak fitness after having 3 starts this season in stronger fields in the North Island. Bruno Queiroz picks up the ride, and a form reversal is on the cards. MY BOY ZAC (6) raced close to the pace at Ascot Park over a mile last time out, and faded out in the run home. He is worth another chance over a sprint trip here. SUPER ROSA (10) made progress on wet tracks in the North Island last prep, and her stable usually has a successful time in the South Island over the holiday period. Watch closely.
